What "treatment-resistant PTSD" means

PTSD that hasn’t responded sufficiently to two trauma-focused therapy modalities and pharmacotherapy is generally considered treatment-resistant. The non-response rate to first-line treatment is roughly 40% [1] and partial response is even more common. Standard escalation now includes ketamine-assisted therapy, MDMA-assisted therapy in approved settings, and TMS.
